What we look for in a browser fishing game

Anything that survives on our machines has to clear three bars:

Loads in under 10 seconds on a normal connection. A "browser game" that streams 400 MB of assets before the title screen is not a browser game.
Progression that persists. Losing your account when a cookie clears is not okay in 2026.
Playable on both desktop and phone. If the touch experience is broken, it's a Steam game with a URL.

Why "browser" still matters
