Wiki
Every rule of the game in one place. The numbers below are read straight from the live server, so drop rates, prices, energy, quest rewards and event timers are always what the game is actually using right now.
The Fishing Lands is a persistent online world where every angler shares the same waters, market, chat and events. You start at Millbrook Pond with a cane pole, a few coins and a handful of bait. Everything you do — every cast, sale, quest and crew contest — is written down and visible to other players.
Each cast has a base 28% chance of a bite, plus a bite bonus from bait, time of day, weather, tide and expeditions. Bonuses are added as percentage points.
Luck shifts the rarity roll: every point moves weight away from common fish toward uncommon, rare, epic, legendary and mythic species. Sources: bait (only its full value at waters it is made for, otherwise a third), night (+4) and dawn/dusk (+2), weather and tide, an active expedition at your water (+25), an online friend at the same water (+3), rod tier (+1 per tier), and the crew Lucky Charms perk (+1/+2/+3). Groundbait ignores luck entirely.
| Total luck | Common | Uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary | Mythic |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 59.78% | 27.9% | 8.97% | 2.79% | 0.5% | 0.07% |
| 10 | 49.65% | 33.45% | 12.02% | 3.97% | 0.78% | 0.13% |
| 20 | 38.47% | 39.57% | 15.39% | 5.28% | 1.1% | 0.19% |
| 30 | 31.99% | 42.66% | 17.6% | 6.19% | 1.33% | 0.23% |
| 40 | 29.54% | 43.32% | 18.71% | 6.69% | 1.48% | 0.27% |
You never have to work this out yourself: on the Fishing page, hover or tap the luck figure beside the weather to see the exact odds of your next cast at your current water with your bait, rod, friends and crew perks, next to the odds at luck 0.
Common fish never drop below the floor shown, but a high-level angler with a top rod and premium bait will still spend most casts on rare-and-up species. If you want the everyday fish — for contracts, the journal or species mastery — use Groundbait from the Tackle Shop: it ignores your luck entirely (see Bait).
Hold Reel (mouse, touch or Space) to raise tension, release to let it fall. Keep the needle inside the green sweet spot to fill the progress bar; the fish's pull, runs and jerks push you out of it. Tension in the red for too long snaps the line; slack for too long lets it slip the hook. Each species has a fighting style:
| Style | Strength | Erratic | Feels like |
|---|---|---|---|
| steady | 0.8 | 0.5 | pulls with slow, even pressure |
| sluggish | 0.6 | 0.3 | sits heavy and barely moves |
| runner | 1.2 | 1 | makes long, fast runs |
| thrasher | 1 | 1.6 | thrashes wildly and unpredictably |
| diver | 1.35 | 0.6 | dives deep with brutal force |
| jumper | 1.1 | 1.4 | leaps and jerks the line |
Your rod power shortens how long you must hold the sweet spot, rod control widens it, reel recovery brings tension back faster after a run, and line tolerance lets you survive longer in the red. Fights are checked server-side: hold timing that does not match a real fight is rejected.
Small common fish fight plainly. The rarer and bigger the fish (rarity, size for its species, a scarred/giant/golden variant, and a little for far-off waters), the more tricks it brings — shown as "Expect" tags when the fight starts, and hinted at in the bite text:
| Trick | Who | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Dive | divers, sluggish fish | The sweet spot drops low for ~3s: ease off. |
| Burst run | runners | The sweet spot climbs high for ~3s: keep the pressure on. |
| Leap | jumpers, thrashers | Tension spikes, then the line goes slack: take it up quickly. |
| Second wind | steady fish, every legendary | At 60% progress it rallies for 5s: narrower sweet spot, harder pull. |
| Tiring zone | score 4+ | The sweet spot narrows as progress climbs (to 75%, or 60% for the toughest). |
| Panic | score 6+ | In the last 20% its jerks come twice as often. |
Trick score = rarity (common 0 … legendary 4, mythic 5) + 1 if big + 1 if monstrous + 1 if a variant + 1 per four waters out. Score 2 unlocks the behaviour trick, 4 adds Tiring zone, 5 repeats the behaviour trick, 6 adds Panic.
The world clock is UTC. Dawn 05–08, day 08–17, dusk 17–20, night 20–05. Every species has an active period (legendary and sluggish fish are night feeders) and is about twice as likely to bite during it. Weather changes every few hours per water; salt waters also run a tide.
| Period | Bite | Luck |
|---|---|---|
| dawn | +6 | +2 |
| day | 0 | 0 |
| dusk | +6 | +2 |
| night | -4 | +4 |
| Tide | Bite | Luck |

| high | +3 | +2 |
| falling | 0 | 0 |
| low | -5 | 0 |
| Weather | Bite | Luck | Report |
|---|---|---|---|
| clear | 0 | 0 | Clear skies and still water. |
| overcast | +4 | +1 | A grey lid of cloud. Fish feed confidently. |
| rain | +8 | +2 | Steady rain dimples the surface — the fish are up and feeding. |
| storm | -6 | +5 | A storm churns the water. Dangerous, but strange things come up. |
| fog | -2 | +4 | Thick fog. You can barely see your float. |
| wind | -3 | 0 | A stiff wind makes casting awkward. |
Ten waters, from a village pond to a lightless cave lake. Each needs a minimum level and a one-time passage fee. Travel is free once unlocked. Deeper waters hold heavier, rarer and more valuable fish — and a legendary boss.
Every unlocked water card shows your progress there: species recorded in your journal out of the pool, and how many of those you have also caught as a scarred, giant, golden or other variant. Record every species and the water is stamped Complete.

311 species live in the Lands. Every species has a natural-history plate, a weight range, a fighting style and a value modifier. Discover them to fill your Fish Journal; click any entry for its full record and server-wide records.
| Rarity | Roll weight | Base value | XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| common | 600 | 8g | 10 |
| uncommon | 280 | 26g | 24 |
| rare | 90 | 95g | 70 |
| epic | 28 | 380g | 210 |
| legendary | 5 | 2000g | 650 |
| mythic | 0.7 | 6000g | 1600 |
Mythic sits above legendary: one per water, real species that belong there, roughly one in 650 bites at base luck. They fight at 1.8× strength with far more stamina than a legendary, so a matched high-tier set is all but required to land one. Hooking one raises a server-wide alert just like a legendary, and landing one counts toward the Legendary Hunter contest and the "Myth Made Flesh" / "Keeper of Myths" achievements.
Value = base × species modifier × (0.7 → 2.0 by how close the weight is to the species maximum) × variant multiplier. XP = rarity XP + 3×√weight.
| Variant | Chance | Value |
|---|---|---|
| normal | 0% | ×1 |
| scarred | 3.5% | ×1.35 |
| giant | 2% | ×2.2 |
| albino | 1.2% | ×3 |
| golden | 0.6% | ×5 |
Variants are rolled independently of rarity. A golden mythic is the rarest thing in the game.
Every species has its own mastery, levels 1–10, earned simply by landing more of it. Progress shows on each Fish Journal card and in the catch result. Rarer fish master in far fewer catches — but a common takes 300 to master, so a full bar is a real badge.

| Level | Perk |
|---|---|
| Lv 1 | +2% vendor price and XP per level (up to +20%; the price bonus is applied when you sell to the vendor, so it counts for every fish of that species you still hold) |
| Lv 3 | fish tires 5% faster (10% at Lv 6, 15% at Lv 9) |
| Lv 5 | +5% on the weight roll (+10% at Lv 10) — a mastered species can weigh up to 10% more than the journal range shows |
| Lv 7 | giant / albino / golden variants 1.5× as likely |
| Lv 10 | Master title, 1 Pearl, feed shout-out |
Reaching Lv 10 grants the "[Fish] Master" title, a Pearl and a feed shout-out. Your total mastery levels are shown on your profile and rank on the Fish masters board.
Buy at the Tackle Shop. Only one rod, reel and line are equipped at a time. Some tackle is level-locked and the finest pieces cost gold and Pearls: earn Pearls from weekly quests, contests, bosses, streaks and the day-7 Harbour Chest. Matched set bonus: equip a rod, reel and line of the same tier and you get +5% fight power and 50% of all durability wear is skipped — your tackle lasts twice as long. Mixed tiers get no set bonus, so complete the set at every step up.
Besides shorter, safer fights, each piece of tackle carries a bonus that grows with its tier (T1 = none): the rod adds +1 luck per tier on every cast (rarer species and variants — a T8 rod is +7 luck, about the same as a dawn bite in good weather), the reel adds +2% vendor price per tier whenever you sell fish to the vendor (it uses the reel you are wearing at the moment of sale, so upgrading pays off on every fish already in your keepnet), and the line adds +2% XP per tier. A fish's listed value is the same for every angler — the reel and mastery bonuses are added only at the vendor, never on the Market or in contests. These stack with crew perks and are listed on every shop card.
| Tier | Repair cost per point |
|---|---|
| T1 | free |
| T2 | 5 gold |
| T3-4 | 10 gold |
| T5-6 | 20 gold |
| T7-8 | 35 gold |
| T9 | 50 gold |
Repair cost depends on the tier band only — never on the price you paid — so a top rod is not a money pit to maintain.

Every item has 100/100 durability. Each fish you fight (landed or lost) takes 1 point off your equipped rod, reel and line. Tackle never breaks and never stops you fishing: at 0 it still works but at 70% of its fight stats and of its tier perk (rod luck, reel sell bonus, line XP — rounded down) until repaired. The luck readout on the Fishing page shows a worn rod as "rod T8 (worn, 70%)". Below 25 the condition readout turns amber.
Repair everything in one click from your Inventory tackle box or the Tackle panel while fishing. Cost is a flat amount per point set by the item's tier band (see the table under Tackle above — 5 gold at T2 up to 50 gold at T9), never a percentage of the price; the free starter gear is repaired for nothing.
About 12% of empty casts ("nothing bites") haul up trash instead — it costs the normal cast energy, gives no XP and never replaces a fish. Trash stacks in the Inventory Salvage box, where it is recycled into Tackle Scrap. Deep and sea waters (Coral Shoals, The Frozen Reach, Ghostlight Cavern, Harrow Point, The Sunken Deep) give heavier junk — hooks, planks and anchor chain — so more scrap per hour. A bottle has a 5% chance to hold a note with gold and a 1% chance to hold a Harbourmaster's Seal.
| Trash | Scrap | |
|---|---|---|
| Waterlogged Boot | 1 | Somebody's left foot, or what the eels left of it. |
| Glass Bottle | 1 | Corked. Sometimes there's something inside. |
| Tangled Line | 2 | A bird's nest of old nylon and a lost sinker. |
| Rusty Hook | 3 | Bent, barbed and older than you. |
| Driftwood Plank | 3 | Good hardwood under the barnacles. |
| Anchor Chain Link | 5 | Heavy iron from some forgotten wreck. Deep waters only. |
At the Tackle Shop → Enhance bench every owned rod, reel and line can be raised level by level. Each level adds +2% to the item's fight stat (rod power & control, reel recovery, line tolerance). On top: the rod gains +1 luck at every even level (+5 at +10), the reel +1% vendor price per level and the line +1% XP per level. Enhancement sticks to the item and shows as "+N" after its name. Cost for level n is 8·n² scrap plus gold equal to 10% × n of the item's shop price (starter gear counts as 500 gold). +1 always succeeds; every step after that can fail, losing the scrap and gold — and from +6 a failure also knocks the item down one level.

Harbourmaster's Seal (50 Pearls in the Pearl Shop): spend one on an attempt and it cannot fail. One Seal per attempt. Groundbait still ignores all luck, enhanced rod included.
Bait is consumed one per cast. Select it on the Fishing page. Each bait gives its full luck and bite at the waters it suits; elsewhere only a third of its luck. Live bait is made from your own catches (+1 per fish — one small fish, one hook). Crafted baits out-luck the shop bait of their tier without costing Pearls (Angler's Secret is the strongest bait of all) and can only be made at Bait Crafting from fish plus vendor ingredients, or bought from other anglers on the market.
The better your rod, bait and crew perks, the harder it becomes to land a plain common or uncommon fish — which is exactly what many Harbour contracts, journal gaps and mastery levels ask for. Groundbait (35g, Tackle Shop, no level needed, every water) solves this: while it's on the hook your luck is ignored for the rarity roll and common and uncommon fish are twice as likely. The odds are the same for everyone, whatever their level: about 63.7% common, 29.73% uncommon, 4.78% rare, 1.49% epic, 0.27% legendary and 0.04% mythic. It has the highest bite bonus of any bait (+10%) so grinding casts rarely come back empty. Everything else is untouched — variant chance, secret fish windows, boss hooks, bait-only species, time-of-day bonuses and weight rolls. Rule of thumb: Groundbait to fill orders, Chum and Glow to hunt trophies.
Some fish are fussy. The species below only take the listed baits; with anything else they bite at a token 4% of their normal rate, so for practical purposes you will not catch them. The Bait panel on the Fishing page tells you which local species your current bait unlocks.

The dockside vendor sells each angler a limited stock of every ingredient per UTC day; the allowance resets at midnight UTC together with daily quests. Crafting itself is never capped — if you run out, buy ingredients from other anglers on the Market (filter "Ingredients only") or sell your spare stock with the Sell button in your Inventory. Guests must claim their account before listing ingredients. Ingredients from the Harbour Chest do not count against the cap.

The Quest log has three kinds. Daily (3 per day) and weekly (2 per week) quests are rolled from templates for your level. Finish all dailies to extend your quest streak; every 7th day pays a big streak bonus, and an alive streak boosts your Harbour chest. Story chapters unlock by level and tell the tale of the harbour; a "!" on the Quests tab means a new chapter is ready.

Open one chest per UTC day. Consecutive days climb a 7-day ladder; miss a day and it resets to day 1; day 7 wraps back to day 1. Gold scales with your level and with your quest streak (+10% per streak day, up to 7 days). A gold dot on the Harbour tab means today's chest is waiting.

Harbourmaster Aldous Crane, bait seller Nettie Marsh, Old Tobias and Cook Marisol Vane stand on the quay. Click a face to hear them talk — their lines change hourly and refer to real happenings: the week's heaviest catch, the leading crew, active expeditions and bosses, the weather where you fish, and your own record.
The Contract Board replaces the old bounty of the day. Four dockside patrons post delivery orders — a personal board of 6 offers at a time, each on the board for 12–48 hours before a fresh one takes its place; when you accept an offer its slot is re-posted 4 hours later, and filled contracts stay listed under "Your contracts" for a day. Accept an order (you can hold 2 at once; Old Tobias grants a third at Trusted rank) and you have 48 hours to fill it. At most 4 contracts can be filled per day — the board is a steady side income, deliberately smaller than fishing itself, and server boosters do not touch it. Hand in fish from your inventory in any number of trips — caught fresh or bought on the Market, it makes no difference. Fish handed in leave your inventory for good (your journal, mastery, contests and crew tallies already counted them). One offer per day can be swapped for another; abandoning an accepted contract costs 5 favour with that patron.
Orders are tiered 1–4 by the rarity of what they ask for (T1 common, T2 uncommon, T3 rare, T4 epic/legendary; trophy and curiosity orders are at least T2). Gold is the fish's plain value ×1.5 plus a tier bonus that scales with your level and the water's level — always more than the vendor pays, and usually more than the Market. XP scales with your level; a Pearl comes with 0/10/30/60% of T1–T4 orders and always with a special order. Every filled order adds favour (8/12/20/30 by tier, 45 for a special order) with that patron. Hand-ins are also handed in cheapest-first, so your valuable fish stay in the keepnet.
| Rank | Favour | One-off reward |
|---|---|---|
| Stranger | 0 | — |
| Acquaintance | 100 | 400 gold |
| Trusted | 300 | 1200 gold + 1 Pearls |
| Partner | 650 | 3000 gold + 2 Pearls |
| Old Friend | 1200 | 7500 gold + 3 Pearls + the patron's title |
Ranks never fall (abandoning only spends points). Each patron's perk is passive and permanent once unlocked, and stacks with crew perks:
| Patron | Wants | Perk at full rank |
|---|---|---|
| Harbourmaster Aldous Crane | bulk orders of everyday fish for the dock stores | -20% gear repair costs (from Acquaintance) |
| Nettie Marsh | small fish for her bait tubs and odd-looking specimens for the curious | -20% on bait at the Tackle Shop (from Acquaintance) |
| Old Tobias | heavy trophies and proof of skill from the far waters | +1 contract slot (from Trusted); -1% market fee on your sales (from Old Friend) |
| Cook Marisol Vane | fish by the kilo for the galley pots and the finest cuts for the captain's table | +25% gold on every contract (from Acquaintance); the Galley Copper portrait frame (from Old Friend) |
Old Friends (Old Friend) receive that patron's title and, now and then, a special order on their board: tier-4 pay, a guaranteed Pearl and 45 favour. A daily quest ("Honest Work") sometimes asks for one filled contract, and achievements reward 10 and 50 contracts and Old Friend status.
Every 4 hours an expedition opens at one water for 60 minutes, giving everyone there +25 luck and +10 bite. The Harbour and Fishing pages show the current and next expedition with a travel button.
The alert bar at the top of the game shows live legendary and mythic hooks, landings and losses across the server for 12 minutes, plus expedition and boss windows. Cheer other anglers on from the bar.
Browser notifications (off by default): open Settings (⚙ in the top bar) and turn on alerts for boss spawns, expeditions and/or a full energy bar to get one ping per window even when the tab is closed. Works on desktop browsers and Android; on iPhone/iPad only after adding the game to your Home Screen. Guests must claim their account first.
One monster haunts every water. Roughly every 8 hours one boss rises for a 30-minute window on a hidden timer; the whole server is told "Something enormous is stirring at …". While it is up, 25% of bites at that water are the boss itself. The fight has two phases: at half progress it rallies, the sweet spot narrows and its pull jumps. Slaying it pays gold, XP and a unique title, records the kill in the Journal's ☠ Bosses tab, and pays online crewmates fishing the same water a 10% share. One kill per angler per window. Mount up to 3 bosses as gold plaques on your profile.

Three species have a 0% spawn rate for most of the day. Each one only bites during a fixed real-world window in server time (the clock above the World feed runs on UTC), and nobody will tell you when: the hours are not written anywhere in the game. Read the lore, watch the water, compare notes with other anglers. While a window is open at its water, about 6% of bites there are the secret fish — and there is no announcement. Any bait works; they are not fussy eaters. They never count toward a water's Complete stamp, sit in your Journal as "???" until landed, and landing all three grants the title Keeper of Secrets.

Found a crew for 5,000 gold or join one (open crews accept instantly; invite-only crews take applications and leaders can whisper invites). Base capacity 20 anglers. Crews share a private chat channel and compete in a rotating weekly crew challenge (total weight, species landed or rarity points) that pays gold to split and Pearls to every member.
Every member can deposit gold into the crew bank; the leader spends it on perks that apply to all members. Hall tiers: Dockside Shack → Fishermen's Lodge → Great Hall → Harbour Palace.
Ranks. The leader can appoint officers from the roster (badges show next to names). Officers can build hall upgrades, write the notice board, invite anglers and approve or decline join requests; only the leader can kick, promote, demote or change crew settings. If a leader leaves, an officer takes the helm. The leader and officers can also send one crew message per 24 hours that lands in every member's inbox and the crew chat.

Every week each crew receives one big delivery order from a rotating dockside patron, sized to the roster (3–20 members counted): a bulk line of a common species, a bulk line of an uncommon species, a total weight of fish from one water (any species) and a handful of rare-or-better fish from anywhere. Species come from waters at least half the crew has unlocked, so everyone can pitch in. Any member hands fish in from their own inventory on the crew page; cheapest fish go first. All four lines must be filled before the week ends or nobody is paid. On completion the pool (fish value ×2 plus 600 gold per member) is split: 25% into the crew bank for perks, the rest among everyone who delivered in proportion to their share of the work (rare fish count 4×). Each contributor also gets XP, 1 Pearl (2 with a ≥5% share) and +30 favour with that patron. The daily 4-contract cap does not apply to the crew order.
From level 50 an angler may buy a pond deed for 250,000 gold — one per angler. The pond starts empty: release any fish from your keepnet into it (any species, any rarity, even strains caught elsewhere; only mounted trophies and listed fish are excluded) (Ponds page → Stock tab, or Inventory → "Release into pond"), and they become the pond's stock. Upkeep is 25,000 gold every 7 days; an unpaid pond silts up and bites drop until it is paid. The (i) button on the Ponds page explains everything in-game.
Any angler can buy a day pass (the owner sets the fee, at most 25,000 gold; the harbour keeps 10%) and cast 20 times a day at that pond (40 with a Boathouse) and take home at most the number of fish the owner allows per pass (3–20, default 10; shown on the pond card; the owner has no limit), so nobody can empty a pond. Every fish landed leaves the pond's stock and lands in the visitor's keepnet like any catch: it can be sold, listed, or handed in for contracts and crew orders. Ordinary pond fish never count for the journal, mastery, achievements, contests or the feed — pond strains are the exception (below).
With a Hatchery, stock breeds on its own (every 12/8/6 hours by level, 1/2/3 species with two or more fish each gain one of the same kind — common, uncommon and rare only; epic and above never breed, and stock never turns into another species). Bred fish are the only pond fish that can come out as a variant: 3% golden, 12% albino. Separately, each tick has a 35/50/65% chance (by level) that a pond strain appears in the pond by itself — not bred from the stock; it only needs a Hatchery, at least one fish and a free spot. It is one of 8 species that live nowhere else. Strains go in the journal (filter "Player ponds"), count for mastery and achievements, and rare ones are announced in the feed — the only way to complete the journal is to visit hatchery ponds.

Capacity starts at 20 fish and dredging raises it to 40 → 80 → 160. There are 8 cosmetics (Reed beds, Weeping willow, Lantern posts, Lanterns, Stone wall, Pennant flag, Boathouse, Name plate); every 2 built advance the pond's painting one stage (5 stages, bare plot → grand estate), shown on the Fishing page and in the directory. Renaming costs 50,000 gold, a new jetty sign 25,000.
| Upgrade | Cost per level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Dredging | 150,000 / 500,000 / 1,500,000 | Makes the pond bigger: room for 40 → 80 → 160 fish instead of 20. |
| Hatchery | 400,000 / 1,200,000 / 3,000,000 | Your fish make more of their own kind: every 12 → 8 → 6 hours, 1 → 2 → 3 species with 2+ fish each get one more (common, uncommon and rare only — epic and up never breed). On top of that, each round has a 35/50/65% chance that a pond strain appears in the pond by itself — a special species that is NOT bred from your fish and exists only in ponds. Higher level = rarer strains. |
| Lanterns | 250,000 | Everyone gets 4 extra casts a day after dark. Also counts as a decoration. |
| Boathouse | 600,000 | Visitors get 40 casts a day instead of 20, and you may set the fish-per-pass limit up to 40. Also counts as a decoration. |
| Name plate | 200,000 / 750,000 / 2,000,000 | Decoration only: a brass → silver → gilded name plate by the jetty, shown as a badge on your pond. Only the first level counts toward the look. |
| Reed beds | 100,000 | Decoration only: reeds along the bank. |
| Weeping willow | 150,000 | Decoration only: an old willow tree over the water. |
| Lantern posts | 200,000 | Decoration only: iron lantern posts on the jetty. |
| Stone wall | 400,000 | Decoration only: a stone wall around the plot. |
| Pennant flag | 150,000 | Decoration only: a small flag on a pole at the end of the jetty. |
From level 10 the Duelling Pier is open. Entering the queue costs 25 energy (refunded if nobody turns up within 90 s). Two anglers are paired and fish the same water — chosen at random from the waters both have unlocked — for 2 minutes. Casts inside the duel are free, both anglers use standard duel tackle (your own gear adds at most ×1.12), and duel fish never enter your inventory or journal. Most points wins; ties go to total weight, then fewer lost fish. A fish hooked before the buzzer may still be fought (at most 90 s of overtime). Leaving the pier for 45 s forfeits the duel.
| Rarity landed | Points |
|---|---|
| common | 10 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
| uncommon | 25 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
| rare | 60 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
| epic | 120 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
| legendary | 250 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
| mythic | 600 (+ up to 50% for size, +25% for a variant) |
Win 3 · draw 2 · loss 1 · a win without losing a single fish gives +1. Marks are earned only on the pier and spent only in the Duellist's Shop. Because marks come from energy, trading them in is deliberately worth a little less than fishing that energy would earn — duels are for the contest, not a gold farm.
| Item | Marks | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Purse of Gold | 5 | 500 gold (repeatable) |
| A Pearl | 12 | 1 Pearl (repeatable) |
| Duellist's Chum | 3 | 5× Duellist's Chum — luck +12, bite +7, any water (repeatable) |
| Energy Potion | 15 | 1 Energy Potion — +100 energy, one drink per 24 h, kept in your Inventory (repeatable) |
| The Duellist | 25 | A portrait for anglers who settle things on the water. |
| Crossed Rods | 15 | Two rods crossed in gold — worn by those who have stood the clock. |
| Duelling Crimson | 30 | Your name in chat and on your profile turns duelling crimson. Nobody else can buy this shade. |
| Pier Champion | 40 | The title "Pier Champion", worn under your name. Earned only here. |
| Champion's Laurel | 60 | A wreath of gilded laurel over deep crimson. The prestige frame of the pier. |
Tournaments are scheduled contests you buy into — one every 3 hours, alternating gold and Pearls, never back to back. Gold tournaments start at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00 UTC and Pearl tournaments at 03:00, 09:00, 15:00, 21:00 UTC. Buy-in opens 1 hour before the start and closes when it begins; each runs 1 or 2 hours. Gold buy-ins are 250 / 500 / 1000 gold, Pearl buy-ins 2 / 3 / 5 Pearls — the amount, the length and the category are drawn per tournament and shown in advance. A tournament needs at least 3 anglers or it is called off and every fee is refunded. You can hold one ticket at a time, guests cannot buy in, and only fish you hook yourself during the window count.
The fee is a fee, not a prize pool. Every angler is paid for their own score: a rate per unit (fish, kilo, species, variant or point) that scales with the buy-in — the table shows the rate at the top buy-in (1000 gold / 5 Pearls); a 500-gold tournament pays half as much per unit, and so on. Payouts are capped at 10× the buy-in in gold tournaments and at 10 Pearls in Pearl tournaments. The top three also take a podium bonus in the other currency (3/2/1 Pearls in gold tournaments, 2000/1000/500 gold in Pearl tournaments) and the winner keeps the title "Tournament Champion".

Crews get their own weekly challenge on the Crews page, drawn from Crew Total Weight, Crew Species, Crew Rarity Points. It resets on Monday 00:00 UTC; the top three crews split gold between their members and every member takes Pearls.

Every full account has a recruit code and link on the Recruit page. A friend who registers (or plays as guest, then claims) with your code is your recruit. As they grow you are paid in three stages, and they receive a bonus too. Payouts happen automatically when the milestone is landed.
| Stage | Recruit reaches | You get | They get |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · First Tides | Level 5 & 25 fish landed | 2,500 gold | 1,000 gold |
| 2 · Proven Angler | Level 12 & 150 fish landed | 5 Pearls | 1 Pearl |
| 3 · Old Salt | Level 20 & 400 fish landed | 10 Pearls + the title "Dockside Mentor" | 2 Pearls |
Recruits who share a network with you are linked but never pay out. There is no limit on how many anglers you may recruit. Existing accounts may enter a code only within 48 hours of creation and before 50 fish landed. Guests must claim a real account before stages count. Fights are validated server-side, so milestones cannot be scripted. Reaching Stage 3 with any recruit grants the title "Dockside Mentor".
